Vinny has been an English/writing teacher for the past 6 years. He has led workshops for adults, high school students, middle-school artists, and more. Paired with being a tutor and climbing coach, Vinny is a professional help-people-learn-stuff-guy. He would have it no other way
Experience
Cathedral High School
Vinny is a faculty member of Cathedral High School. He teaches IU Public Speaking, American Literature, and is the moderator for the Creative Writing Club.
Butler University Creative Writing Camp
Vinny spent three years as a Butler University Creative Writing Camp teacher. He worked with middle school artists and helped cultivate a love for writing, reading, and generative artistic practices.
MFA Workshops
Vinny is a local facilitator. He is working with Butler University’s MFA program to offer workshops to the wider Indianapolis community. He is running a Science-Fiction/Dystopian workshop in May.
Indy Symposium
From 2018-2020, Vinny hosted and curated a local poetry slam at Black Circle Brewing Company. Even though it was a Covid casualty, Vinny continues to develop relationships with the poets, and he attends/reads at local literary events regularly.
